Still in Cape Town

Sitting in the Cape Sun feeling miserable. Managed to say goodbye to the dogs without any tears and got a lift to the airport with Mike only to see all the Joburg flights were delayed. Sounds like the previous flight had just filled up, but we were reassured that the London flight in Joburg would wait for us. So we went to enjoy the benefits of the premier lounge. Sadly, SAA informed us that the flight was further delayed and we now had missed the London flight and we would have to wait for the same flight the next day. I was devastated. This wasn't just us loosing a day of holiday, but my whole family were affected. Judy and Jess were coming to London to meet us, Dad had spent days planning the perfect visit to London for us. He'd taken trips into London to check out each place, and had an hour by hour planned schedule in place. I tried insisting that SAA must find another flight, but obviously that would cost them too much. The only flight to London we could find was R40,000! So here we sit, sad and frustrated in Cape Town. While we considered going home for the day, saying goodbye to the dogs a second time just felt like too much. Then I got the sad news that Anouk, Matts dog, the sweet puppy I saw grow up died today. Truly horrible first day of holiday. Let's hope things improve from here.

  1. What a terrible way to start, but surely things can only get better from here on out.
